Lisa and Steve McLean have both enjoyed a long and happy career in the world of dance and performing arts, and continue to teach classes in all genres at their very successful school, which was established in 1988.

Their professional approach to all things dance and drama helps keep the thriving business current and healthy.

Lisa started dancing at the age of nearly 3 years old and studied Ballet until the age of 19, gaining many trophies and performing in shows with the ballet school that she attended.

Steve started dancing Ballroom and Freestyle (disco as it was known back then) at the age of 6 and also won many trophies and gained world championship status.

They met in 1987 and in 1988 launched Spinners Dance Studio and became qualified dance teachers with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). This was the best thing that they could have done as the IDTA examination syllabii are now followed, at the school, in all genres of dance and musical theatre.

Lisa was a Ballroom Branch examiner for the IDTA from 2005 - 2023 (Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Freestyle, Street Dance, RocknRoll, Musical Theatre, and many other styles) and this has been very beneficial to the up-to-date running of the school. Professional qualifications are very important and both Lisa and Steve are qualified to Fellowship level with the IDTA.

Steve has broadcast equipment and films at IDTA meetings, throughout the year, and is now available to film at other events, such as dance shows and corporate events.
